About This Object
A modern shinsakutō katana forged in 2010 by Satake Katsunori (art-name Norichika), a swordsmith from Kōchi Prefecture who works in the flamboyant chōji hamon tradition of the Bizen Ichimonji school. Shinsakutō represent the continuation of the Japanese sword tradition into the contemporary era, made under modern registration and licensing.
